Basil Magazine

I've been so distracted...

I can't believe it is already March 15th and I haven't posted our March issue of Basil Magazine yet here at Playful Noshings. Have a look at my column on how to learn more about your Local Foodshed and let me know what you think. There are also amazing recipes and pieces about superfoods for women, planning family activities on a budget, and food and wine paring. I recommend pouring your favorite beverage and settling in for a bit...

Why have I been distracted...

Because baby comes in two weeks and everything they say about nesting is so true! I can't seem to keep my mind on much aside from sorting, cleaning, and organizing...all things that aren't my strongest points, but I can't seem to get enough of them!

Luckily, this urge to organize has helped me to get two months ahead on my writing projects (again, so unlike me). With a couple of columns on deck, I am ready for some full on snuggling and a cuddling with my little one...once she gets here.

  6. LOVE LOVE LOVE your column about learning about local foodsheds!! Although I frequent our local farmers' market and have a garden... I never really thought about it. BUT... it makes absolute sense. All winter I'm stuck buying produce from the grocery store... lately, I've been fed up because all I want are green beans that taste sweet and have a floralness to them... I want produce the way it's supposed to taste!!

Nothing is better than picked fresh from the garden... no trucks, no packaging, no artificial ripening.... oh, how I long for Spring :)

Thanks so much for sharing!! Will definitely be sharing on my blog soon!!

  8. Have you seen the newly published book, The Town That Food Saved. All about one of our favorite Vermont places...very inspiring story. We've heard these guys speak at the NOFA-VT Conference, and at the VLT Annual Celebration.

And a Baby? How wonderful! I'll be keeping you in my thoughts these next few weeks...
